What is boudoir?

Edmonton Boudoir Photography
Boudoir is an experience meant to show you just how unique and remarkably beautiful you are. These sessions have become more popular in recent years as the messages of self love, body positivity and empowerment are at the forefront of our minds. Boudoir is about celebrating all the badass aspects that make you a work of art. I want you to walk away from this experience feeling liberated, empowered and sexy. I want you to fall in love with yourself!

You’re probably wondering what this whole experience is like…I get it! I’m the type of person that does as much research as possible before making a purchase or signing up for something, so let me give you the lay of the land.

Before your session we’ll chat, get to know each other and I’ll provide you with a boudoir welcome guide full of helpful tips, what to expect and how to prepare. You’ll also receive a questionnaire so you can tell me your level of comfort and what type of session you’re wanting. During your session I’ll guide you through every pose, so there’s no need to worry, just relax and have fun! After the session I’ll edit your images and you’ll receive an online proofing gallery to pick your favourites for skin retouching and to purchase your products. You’ll finish this experience with tangible works of art to proudly display and enjoy.

My Edmonton boudoir photography studio is a safe space for LGBTIA2S+ and BIPOC folks. Hate isn't welcome here!

FAQ

QUESTION

ANSWER

How far in advance should I book my session if I want to give these images as a gift?

If you plan on including prints, wall art or an album as part of your gift, I recommend a minimum of 2 months in advance. If you only require the digitals then 1 months in advance is recommended. The more time we have the better! If your timeline is tighter, please still reach out and we’ll see if we can make it happen.

How long does it take for my images to be ready?

After your session I will backup the raw files to ensure they are safe until I’m able to edit them. Depending on how many client sessions are in my editing queue, it can take up to 2 weeks for your session to be completed. Once complete I will upload your images to a secure online proofing gallery and store where you will be able to pick your favourites and make your product purchases.

How long does it take to receive the products I order?

Once editing is complete and you have made your order selection, I will submit the order request to the professional print lab. The lab I work with is wonderful and has a great turnaround time of 2-4 weeks on average. Sometimes there may be additional production or shipping time needed due to high demand or peek busy season such as the holidays (November/December).

I’m shy or more reserved, do I have to pose nude?

Definitely not, this is your session and we will only do what you’re comfortable with. I send all my boudoir clients a questionnaire to find out more about them and their comfort level in advance. Some clients opt for a cute loungewear session as opposed to lingerie or nudity.

I don’t feel confident in my body, can I still do a boudoir session?

ABSOLUTELY! Boudoir sessions are all about self-love, embracing your natural beauty and appreciating your body! I strongly encourage you to book now and not to wait. We often focus on imperfections but waiting to be perfect is silly. Clients often leave feeling amazing about themselves and get a big confidence boost after the session!

Will my images be shared online?

This is completely up to you. I will only share images on my website portfolio and social media with your written consent. You can choose your level of comfort, whether that be only images that don’t show your identity, images without nudity or none at all. I’ve also had clients go through there gallery and pick a handful of images they are happy for me to share. The boudoir industry tends to be a discreet one and photographers rely on word of mouth referrals for the most part but we are always thrilled to be able to share a beautiful image of our wonderful clients.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I offer flexible zero percent interest payment plans. If you're not in a rush to get your products after the session we can split your payment into 3, 6 or 9 months. Some of my clients prefer to start their own boudoir savings fund in advance of selecting their products.
